Please refer to our Terms and Conditions for detailed information on booking procedures, cancellations, and your obligations during your stay.
1. Preamble
These Terms and Conditions of Sale (“T&Cs”) apply to all bookings for hiking and adventure trips organized by Beyond The Wonderland (hereinafter “the Organizer”).
By booking a trip, the client unconditionally accepts these T&Cs.
2. Booking and Payment
2.1 Booking:
Trip reservations can be made via our website, by phone, or by email. A reservation is considered confirmed once the deposit mentioned in Section 2.2 has been received.
2.2 Deposit:
A deposit of 20% of the total trip cost is required to confirm the booking.
The remaining balance is due 30 days before departure.
For bookings made less than 30 days before departure, full payment is required at the time of booking.
2.3 Payment Methods:
Payments can be made by credit card, bank transfer, or any other payment method accepted by the Organizer.
3. Prices
3.1 Rates:
Trip prices are indicated in Swiss Francs (CHF) and are net, inclusive of all taxes. Prices include the services listed in the trip description.
3.2 Price Revisions:
The Organizer reserves the right to modify prices in the event of significant changes in costs related to transportation, accommodation, taxes, or exchange rates. Clients will be informed of any price changes before finalizing their booking.
4. Cancellation and Modifications
4.1 Cancellation by the Client:
All cancellations must be notified in writing (email or mail).
Cancellation fees:
The deposit paid is non-refundable.
4.2 Modifications by the Client:
Requests for modifications (change of date, participant, etc.) are subject to the Organizer’s approval and may incur additional fees.
The deposit can be used as credit for a future trip.
Credit is valid for one year.
For cancellations within 3 months of departure, no refund is available.
If the Organizer is informed at least 1 month before cancellation, the deposit may be used as credit for a future trip.
4.3 Cancellation by the Organizer:
The Organizer reserves the right to cancel a trip in cases of force majeure (extreme weather, political unrest, global epidemics, etc.) or if the minimum number of participants is not reached.
In such cases, clients may choose between a full refund or rescheduling for another trip.
5. Insurance
5.1 Travel Insurance:
All participants are required to have travel insurance covering cancellation, medical expenses, accidents, and helicopter evacuation, especially for treks in remote areas (mandatory).
5.2 Liability Insurance:
The Organizer holds professional liability insurance. However, it cannot be held responsible for damages caused by third parties or events beyond its control.
6. Risks
6.1 Activity Risks:
Hiking and adventure activities involve inherent risks, including but not limited to falls, injuries, illnesses, unpredictable weather, and altitude variations. By booking a trip, the client acknowledges these risks and agrees to participate knowingly. Clients must follow all safety instructions provided by the guides. The Organizer is not responsible for incidents resulting from failure to comply with instructions.
6.2 Destination Risks:
The Organizer does its best to ensure client safety based on available information and local recommendations. It cannot be held responsible for events beyond its control, including natural disasters, geopolitical unrest, border closures, strikes, health conditions, or any other force majeure events. Clients are responsible for checking local conditions before departure and for obtaining appropriate travel insurance.
6.3 Health and Fitness:
Clients must be in good physical and mental health and capable of participating in the planned activities. Any medical conditions or restrictions must be communicated to the Organizer at the time of booking.
7. Collective Medical Kit and Emergency Oxygen
Beyond The Wonderland provides a collective first-aid kit for treks and expeditions above 6,000 meters, including oxygen for emergency use only.
If a participant wishes to use oxygen for other purposes, all associated costs are their responsibility.
For very high-altitude expeditions (over 8,000 meters), personal oxygen is not included unless explicitly stated. Use of oxygen incurs additional costs, including logistics and staff support.
8. Expedition Team and Support
8.1 Expedition Team:
Expedition staff typically include a lead guide, porters, and a cooking team if necessary. If a participant requests personal guide or porter support, any extra costs (salary, insurance, accommodation, food, transport, equipment, tips) are the sole responsibility of the participant.
8.2 High-Altitude Equipment Carry:
For expeditions above 6,000 meters, high-altitude porters carry collective equipment (tents, sleeping mats, stoves, safety gear if needed).
Each participant is responsible for their personal equipment, including sleeping bag, mat, technical gear, and food.
Where possible, staff may assist with personal gear for an additional fee.
9. Image Rights
By participating, clients authorize the Organizer to use photos and videos taken during activities for promotional purposes unless otherwise stated in writing before the trip.
10. Personal Data Protection
Personal information collected during booking is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and will not be shared with third parties without client consent.
11. Complaints
Any complaints must be submitted in writing to the Organizer within 15 days after the trip. The Organizer will respond promptly.
12. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction
These T&Cs are governed by Swiss law.
In case of disputes, after attempting amicable resolution, the Swiss courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
