Our vision is built on a unique blend of expertise: Franco-Swiss logistical know-how combined with an in-depth understanding of northern Pakistan, developed through Alice’s long-term presence living alongside local communities.
This deep immersion in the heart of the Karakoram Mountains allows us to design authentic, off-the-beaten-path experiences, fully aligned with local traditions and ways of life.
We honor the heritage and knowledge of local guides — true guardians of forgotten trails — while embracing a modern and responsible approach to adventure travel. Beyond Travel: Our Vision
At Beyond the Wonderland, adventure is a gateway to something deeper, a living encounter with landscapes, cultures, and stories shaped over centuries.
We are driven by a vision to reinvent responsible adventure travel through a rare fusion of expertise and heritage, inspired by Hunar Baig, a legendary pioneer of the Karakoram whose legacy continues to guide every expedition we design.
From a lineage of extraordinary mountain guides, he helped open the great routes of high-altitude exploration and inspired generations to carry forward this demanding and meaningful craft.
We dedicate ourselves to preserving this legacy by training future local guides and sharing the depth of Pakistan’s mountain traditions with our travelers. Our journeys follow more than paths on a map — they trace living narratives, etched into summits, valleys, and glaciers by those who came before.
Yet adventure, for us, is also a force for transformation. By integrating local interns — especially young women — into our expeditions, we offer them access to hands-on training and new professional horizons in a field where their presence is still rare. In doing so, we support a more inclusive and sustainable future for mountain tourism.
Through exploration, authenticity, and positive impact, we are building a form of travel that truly matters. Each expedition contributes directly to local development, funding the construction of a sports center for young people and opening new pathways through sport and the mountains.
