An Exceptional Itinerary with Key Stages
Our itinerary begins in Askole, the last village accessible by vehicle, before progressing onto the Baltoro Glacier. Here are the major stages of this legendary trek:
Askole (3,000 m) – Starting point of the trek, the last village before venturing into high-altitude adventure.
Jhola (3,200 m) – First steps along the Braldu River.
Paiyu (3,450 m) – Impressive views of Paiyu Tower and first acclimatization stop.
Urdukas (4,050 m) – Camp offering spectacular views of the Trango Towers.
Goro II (4,300 m) – Trek along the Baltoro Glacier with views of the Gasherbrum peaks.
Concordia (4,650 m) – “The Throne of the Gods,” the meeting point of the Baltoro and Godwin-Austen glaciers, offering an incredible view of K2 (8,611 m).
K2 Base Camp (5,150 m) – The ultimate goal, in the shadow of the Savage Mountain.
Ali Camp (5,000 m) – Final stop before the Gondogoro La Pass, a strategic high-altitude camp.
The Thrill of Crossing Gondogoro La (5,650 m)
After reaching K2 Base Camp, the ascent of the Gondogoro La Pass provides a spectacular finale to the expedition.
This demanding pass requires good physical condition and high-altitude experience, but the reward is immense: breathtaking views of K2, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum I, and Gasherbrum II.
The descent then leads to the stunning valleys of Ali Camp, Khuspang, and Hushe, offering a unique perspective of the Karakoram range and one of the most beautiful mountains in the world: Laila Peak.
